Release on Purpose
Gold Coast Chapel is a small part of the big, beautiful body of Christ. We are a group of believers—the church—pursuing Jesus Christ and the things of God.
Our focus is on four key aspects we believe are essential to a healthy Christian faith community. These areas aim to equip God’s people—restoring, healing, training, and positioning them—for His service. From the beginning, these four focus points have shaped who we are: Family Time, Shepherd the Flock, Feed the Flock, and Release on Purpose.
Since Chapel began in September 2012, we’ve never asked people to get behind our vision from God. Instead, we’ve sought to support what God has called each person to do for His Kingdom—and serve them in that direction.
This heart remains unchanged, but what is changing is how we communicate this, and how we see this function better across the Kingdom of God.
We recognise that for some, purpose and release are found within the ministry of Family Time. Take, for example, the maintenance worker who desires to instil godly principles in children—he finds purpose by serving in our kids’ ministry. Or the musician whose weekday life is spent teaching, running a business, or caring for others, yet whose true passion is worshipping God through heartfelt, Christ-centered songs—this person finds release through serving in the music team.
Others find purpose in shepherding: preparing a meal for someone in a difficult season, visiting the sick, or simply praying with someone in need. Intercession is another vital ministry, though often unseen and hard to quantify. Faithful men and women continually cover our Chapel family in prayer—morning, day, and night—bringing petition, protection, and provision before God on behalf of others. These are just a few of the many ways people are discovering their God-given purpose and finding joy in living it out. Yet there are many who will find their “release on purpose” outside the four walls of the church—and we fully validate and support this.
The first question we ask is: “Is there already a ministry operating in this space?” If so, our response is: “let’s add wind to their sails”, rather than reinvent a wheel that’s already turning.
By searching through the list below, you’ll discover several ministries already serving on the frontline across the Gold Coast. While we currently support many of them; these ministries offer valuable pathways for our Chapel family to step into their calling, so we’re eager to contribute even more.
Contribution can take several forms:
- Prayer – if God has burdened your heart for a particular cause.
- Volunteering – getting involved and serving with your time and hands.
- Financial support – giving personally or through your business to empower what God is already doing.
This is what we mean when we say: “we aim to release on purpose”. We want you to feel both encouraged and supported as you step out to reach a hurting world—whether individually or as part of a coordinated effort.
Our hope is that you catch a vision of the beauty and breadth of the body of Christ across the Gold Coast, and are inspired to be salty salt and glorious light to the ministries already at work, be encouraged by all that God is doing right here, right now.
